Coast Mountain Sports is a National Partner of the TrailsCanada Website and Community program operated by Go for Green, Active Living & Environmental Solutions. Coast Mountain Sports is proud to partner with TrailsCanada to provide trails users, builders and volunteers with the funding support for enhancing and maintaining Canada’s Trails.

When you next visit your local Coast Mountain Sports, you will see our fundraising campaigns in support of TrailsCanada. We commit 100% of the net proceeds to TrailsCanada for the purposes of TrailsCanada trail builders projects in the predominant regions of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Our partnership with TrailsCanada not only provides everyone, young children to older adults from all backgrounds and abilities with the opportunity to be physically active, but also encourages greater understanding of our diverse provinces and the importance of protecting our outdoor environments.

Trails play a vital role in our well-being. Trails support an active lifestyle that improves health and well-being. Trails lead users through the incredibly varied landscapes to be found in our provinces. Trails provide access to remote wilderness areas. Trails attract tourists to communities and increase property values with quieter streets, recreational opportunities and a chance to get in touch with nature. And trails provide meaningful and satisfying outdoor experiences for many users so that they can enjoy: walking, hiking, jogging, cycling, inline skating, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, canoeing, kayaking and more! Trails can be:

  • Footpaths with natural surfaces
  • Multi-use tracks with manufactured surface
  • On-road bicycle routes
  • Walkways, boardwalks and sidewalks
  • Utility corridors or former rail lines
  • Forestry and mining access roads
  • Waterways and portage routes
